Digital Domain Opening New Studio in Florida

Academy Award-winning studio Digital Domain announced that it will be expanding its business with plans to develop a digital production studio in St. Lucie, Florida. Digital Domain expects their Florida studio to open next year, and they plan to launch a new creative development team as well as develop training and recruiting opportunities for animation and video game production staff.

Fun Tools - Google Launches Building Maker

Building Maker is a cross between Google Maps and a gigantic bin of building blocks. Basically, you pick a building and construct a model of it using aerial photos and simple 3D shapes – both of which they provide. When you're done, they take a look at your model. If it looks right, and if a better model doesn't already exist, they add it to the 3D Buildings layer in Google Earth. You can make a whole building in a few minutes.

You have to love Pixologic and their generous distribution of FREE upgrades of ZBrush. Sadly, Power PC users are out of luck - but anyone on a Windows machine or an Intel-based Mac can CLICK HERE to upgrade from ZBrush 2.0 to 3.1, or from 3 to 3.1 for FREE.
