2012 Emmy Nominations for Outstanding Visual Effects

The Primetime Emmy Awards have included a special a category for visual effects since the early 1980s. In the past, sci-fi favorites such as Star Trek: TNG and Battlestar Galactica have raked up the nominations in the VFX category, but in recent years, a wider variety of productions have begun to employ visual effects, making the nominee pool more diverse than ever before.
