Gnomon Studios, the creative destination for authentic animation and visual effects training, today announced its latest project, “Exoids.” The film is directed by Aristomenis (Meni) Tsirbas, who is best known for the acclaimed animated film “Battle for Terra”, as well as his work as a digital artist on films such as “Hellboy” and the Academy Award-winning blockbuster “Titanic”. Tsirbas worked through the entire “Exoids” production pipeline and process in collaboration with top students from Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood, creating a singularly unique learning environment.

“Exoids” takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where two races of highly evolved insects reign as the only survivors: one bionic, endoskeletal and nomadic; the other robotic, exoskeletal and territorial. The story follows the octane-fueled adventures of the nomadic desert slug, Gus Nitrous, on his search for precious water. The story takes a dangerous turn as Gus ventures into the Exoids-occupied city of Los Angeles, culminating in a high-speed desert car chase that ends with an epic showdown.

“From concept through production, the ‘Exoids’ project has been a truly creative and insightful experience for myself as both an instructor and professional in the industry,” said Tsirbas. “Being able to collaborate with these talented up-and-coming artists, while observing their individual creative processes, has been an unforgettable experience. The film has wrapped up nicely and will hopefully bring viewers a visually stunning experience upon it's release.”
