Phil Tippett, the award-winning creature designer and director known for his work on the Star Wars trilogy,
wants to resurrect a film that he started more than two decades ago.
In 1990, Phil began work on MAD GOD, an experimental animated film set in a "Miltonesque world of monsters, mad scientists, and war pigs." The film was put on the shelf unfinished, and has been gathering dust for the past 20-some years.
Recently, other artists at Phil's studio, passionate about the potential of MAD GOD, convinced him to pull it off the shelf and finish it.
Combining stop-motion puppetry, unique environments and in-camera effects, Phil will be directing the movie while training a new generation of stop-motion animators and creature designers.
To finance this amazing project, Phil and his team are seeking backers through Kickstarter.
