In light of allegations that her son Elijah Blue Allman is abusing substances and struggling with mental health concerns, Cher has submitted a petition for custody of her son.

Mr. Allman, who is 47 years old, is allegedly "significantly unable to handle his financial resources," according to court records that the sources have seen.

A conservator is "urgently needed" to protect Cher's property as well as his bodily and mental health, according to the paperwork that Cher's attorneys have submitted.

An attempt has been made to obtain a statement from Cher's spokesperson.

The legal filing has not been the subject of any public comments from Mr. Allman. In a recent Instagram photo, he included the hashtag "#imprisonmentviaconservatorship" in conjunction with the post.

Those individuals who are unable to make their own decisions, such as those who suffer from dementia or other mental diseases, are eligible to receive a conservatorship from the proper authorities.

It can be utilised to handle a person's personal concerns, financial affairs, or both of these types of matters.

Before the end of the year, Mr. Allman is scheduled to receive assets that have been held in trust for him.

According to the records, he is eligible to receive money on a regular basis from the trust that was established by his late father, the musician Gregg Allman.

According to the documents that were submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Mr. Allman is "now unable to handle his assets due to significant mental health and substance addiction concerns."

As stated in the document, "Elijah is entitled to regular distributions from the trust; however, [Cher] is concerned that any funds distributed to Elijah will immediately be spent on drugs, leaving Elijah with no assets to provide for himself and putting Elijah's life in danger." This is due to the fact that Elijah continues to struggle with issues related to his mental health and substance abuse.

77-year-old Cher is said to have "worked relentlessly to get Elijah into treatment and get him the support he needs," according to the statement.

At this time, the hearing for a temporary order is planned to take place on January 5th, and the hearing for a permanent order is scheduled to take place on March 6th.

There have been rumours that Cher hired four men to kidnap her son from a hotel room in New York City. Cher has lately rejected these charges. "That rumour is not true," the singer stated in an interview with People Magazine.

The marriage between Cher and Greg Allman lasted from 1975 till 1979. Her previous marriage, which lasted from 1964 until 1975, was to Sonny Bono, who was her former singing partner. In addition, she is the mother of Chaz Bono, who was born from that connection.

In 2021, Britney Spears was finally freed from a conservatorship that had lasted fifteen years.

When she was speaking at the time, she referred to the day that the legal arrangement that governed many elements of her life was terminated as "the finest day ever."
